Built
to last...
The chassis are hot-dip galvanized in our on-site plant,
as are all the frames and brackets for the optional equipment,
and the platform is 18mm high density plywood with a tough
phenolic resin coating on both sides. The optional panels
are formed from pre-galvanized steel sheet with a generous
2mm thickness.
Adaptability
The flatbed trailers are unrivalled not only for strength
and durability but also for their adaptability. In the basic
form they are supplied with all the fittings to allow the
later addition of optional extras - hinge tubes and sockets
to accept the dropside kit, stowage rails for the loading
skids and spigots for the prop stands. Other other options
include mesh-panelled side extensions, aluminium treadplate
platform covering and winches.
The
Ifor Williams beam axle system
Like all Ifor Williams commercial trailers, the flatbed
range has the company's unique beam axles with heavy duty
leaf springs. Brilliantly simple in concept, the design
has undergone considerable development over the years to
give you arguably the most dependable trailer axle system
in existence. The unitized wheel bearings are sealed for
life and require no maintenance or adjustment, cutting down
on the already low servicing times.
No
compromise has been made on wheel equipment either, top
quality radial tyres being used throughout the range. The
185/60R12C on the LM and 145R10C 8PR on the LT may look
like car tyres, but looks can be deceptive. In fact, they
have been specifically developed for trailer use. Combining
such small dimensions with such high carrying capacities
is an amazing achievement and is a further contribution
to safety, lowering the centre of gravity and widening the
track to improve stability.
